Further notices
In August, 2007, Boston-area archivists along with colleagues in
dozens of locations around the world will host the fifth annual Home
Movie Day, inviting the public to bring along their 8mm, Super-8
and 16mm films from years gone by for an open screening. The event
will celebrate amateur film by bringing it back to life on the movie
screen for audiences who may no longer have the equipment needed
to view these filmic time capsules. This year, on August 18th, there
will be a Home Movie Day event held at the Beverly Public Library,
32 Essex Street in downtown Beverly. Film drop-off will happen from
11am-12, and the screening will run from noon until 3pm. This event
is free and open to the public.
Film archivists Liz Coffey (who hails from Beverly), of the Harvard
Film Archive, and Albert Steg, of Zampano's Playhouse, will be on
hand to inspect films submitted for the screening, and to advise
attendees on appropriate strategies for conserving and viewing their
home movies. Films found to be in suitable condition will be projected
for the general audience, who will be treated to an afternoon of
vivid personal, community and cultural histories, often enlivened
by commentary from the owner of the films, observations from the
gallery, or a musical soundtrack provided by organizers.

THRILLER! CHILLER! 2 CALL FOR ENTRIES
Thriller! Chiller! is West Michigan’s original, alternative
film festival. Last year, our fans braved snowstorms, construction
and even missed the Tiger's playoffs to enjoy some really exciting
independent horror and thriller cinema.
Thriller! Chiller! is back and has expanded to honor the tradition
of all great independent genre cinema. Our favorite films are horror,
sci-fi and action, sometimes mixed with comedy and sometimes a bit
of drama. More importantly, our favorite films aren't represented

We will play genre movies and be proud of
it. We will encourage audience participation. We’ll have fun, scary, thrilling and
even offensive movies for your enjoyment. No need to hide it. We’re
